Hi readers!
First post of the second year of blogging! Well, here the Imperial Knight so far.
Above you can see the result till now, and now some intermediate pics and a final one with a different angle.
Using the airbrush makes easy and fast some parts that with the simple brush could take days and days.
I am quite pleased by the result of the grey: sometimes the airbrush is not very friendly, it clogs and spits, but the effort is worth imho and I add experience also with this technique. I like te fact that I arrived to black in shadowing, but frankly I do not now how I reach this, cause I did a lot of layers of black and a pair of grey, and the job took a lot of attention that I could not use in taking wip pics, sorry.
The metal is done as described. Painting the same part of many parts of a big miniatures or a group - like painting all the metal, then all the wood and so on- is faster but make the result very difficult to see in his completeness.
However I think this is not going to be very different from what you see here.
The to do list is the following: complete the metal, bronze, profiling, and finish the trims. After that, basing, weathering, and decorations etc.
I tried my classical glossy black, that with grey is quite nice: imho the result is elegant, must add dirty to this sir.
Painting a big mini is a long work but very rewarding!
What do you think?
